OLD WORTHLESS A Calgary Rock Band
Old Worthless is a rock/nu-metal band started in 2024 in Calgary Alberta by John Comyns, Derek Bretzer, and Jordan Santiago. The band is known for it’s huge guitars, rhythmic, dancy drumming and poppy melodies. They release both original songs and heavy covers of modern indie music from all genres.
John Comyns is the lead singer and rhythm guitar player. He plays in a drop tuned Fender Stratocaster in a drop B with an uptuned 5th string. He grew up in the town of Okotoks just south of Calgary Alberta. His favorite game is Doom Eternal and is proficient with the meathook.
Derek Bretzer originally hails from the southern Ontario city of Windsor. His family migrated to Alberta in the 90’s where he became a software engineer. He is the drummer and loves a solid 4 on the floor disco vibe whenever possible. Derek’s favorite game is Starfield and is constantly derided for this complete lack of good judgment.
Jordan Santiago is from St Louis, MO. His parents emigrated to Canada in the early 2000’s. Jordan plays a drop tuned Ibanez 4 string bass and sometimes lead guitars with his Gibson SG. His favorite games are MInecraft and speedrunning insane Mario Maker 2 levels which is very based.
